About
Why this exists.
I made coffee every morning and forgot what I did the day before. The grind, the water, the small change that made it better. So I started writing it down.
Reveries is that notebook. It is private because a notebook should be. Then friends wanted to see what I was brewing, so there is a small circle now: follow a few people, see their cups, share a page when you want to. Nothing is public unless you make it public, and there are no ads and no algorithm.
It will stay slow. It will stay yours.

Why coffee
You can follow it end to end.
A lot of modern work is abstract. You rarely get to hold the result of it.
Coffee is different. You can follow it end to end: the farm, the variety, the process, the roast. Then you take the last few steps yourself: grind, water, temperature, time. Change one thing and you taste it minutes later. You get to understand the whole chain, with your hands on the part that matters most.
I built Reveries for myself first, which is to say, for a nerd. So it goes deep: TDS and extraction yield, notes on your water and its minerals, any brewer you own, including ones you describe from first principles. None of that is required, though. On day one it's a notebook, and the depth is there when you want it.
Coffee has a reputation for snobbery. I don't think that matters. If you're doing it for your own pleasure, it makes you happy, and the spending stays somewhere sensible, it's a lovely thing to be obsessed with.
