The short version
Private by default. Public by choice.
Reveries is a notebook first. Sharing is something you turn on, never the other way around.
Private
Yours until you share it.
Your journal syncs to your Reveries account so it is on your iPhone and on the web. Nobody else can see it. We do not sell your data, and there are no ads.

Public
Two settings, that's all.
For each kind of entry (brews, bags, recipes, café coffees) you pick a default: Public or Private. Then any single entry can go the other way. Public entries appear on your page at reveries.coffee and in the Circle feed of people who follow you. Private is private. There is no algorithm deciding who sees what.
Questions
- Do I need an account?
- Yes. You sign in with Apple or Google. The account is what keeps your journal in sync between your iPhone and the web.
- What can other people see?
- Only what you make public: a brew, bag, recipe, or café coffee, plus your profile. Your private entries, notes on them, and your insights are never shown to anyone.
- Do my brewer nicknames show up?
- No. Public pages show the brewer's real name, like "DeLonghi Dedica EC680", never the nickname you gave it.
- Where exactly does my coffee show up?
- On your public page at reveries.coffee, in the Circle feed of people who follow you, and anywhere you share a card or link.
- Can I take things down?
- Yes. Make any entry private again and it comes down. You can also delete your whole account from Settings, after downloading an export of everything.
